- Set up the massage area: Use clean, soft sheets, and have towels ready for coverage and modesty.

Client Consultation

Understand the client's needs: Ask about pain points, areas of tension, or specific postpartum issues (e.g., backache, engorged breasts, or diastasis recti).

Begin the Massage

  1. Warm-up (5–10 minutes)
    ✨ Start with gentle stroking on the back, arms, and legs to relax the body and improve blood circulation.
    ✨ Pay attention to pressure, especially for mothers who may feel sensitive.  
  2. Back Massage (10–15 minutes)
    ✨ Focus on the lower back, shoulders, and neck, as these areas often carry tension from breastfeeding and carrying the baby. 
    ✨ Use long strokes and kneading to release knots.
  3. Legs and Feet (10–15 minutes)
    ✨ Massage the legs to promote blood flow and reduce swelling from water retention. 
    ✨ Include foot reflexology to relieve stress and boost overall relaxation.
  4. Abdominal Massage (if applicable, 5–10 minutes)
    ✨ If the client’s doctor has approved, gently massage the abdomen to help the uterus contract and improve digestion. Avoid strong pressure, especially if the client has had a C-section.
  5. Arms and Hands (5–10 minutes)
    ✨ Massage the arms, wrists, and hands to alleviate strain from holding the baby.
  6. Head and Shoulders (5–10 minutes)
    ✨ End with a relaxing head massage, focusing on the scalp, temples, and shoulders.
